During the hot summer months, we use diesel generator sets more frequently. Here, Xiao Xin will guide you through the precautions to take when operating a diesel generator set.

01 After the generator set has stabilized under no-load conditions, gradually increase the load. Avoid sudden increases in load.

02 Regularly monitor the oil pressure, temperature, coolant temperature, and instrument readings on the control panel to ensure they remain within the ranges specified in the user manuals for various diesel engines and generators.

03 Regularly check fuel, engine oil, and coolant levels to ensure they are sufficient.  

04 New units must operate at loads below 90% of rated power for 4 hours before being allowed to operate at rated power and rated speed.  

05 If the operating environment exceeds the specified conditions, the output power should be adjusted according to regulations.

06 During operation, pay attention to the following matters: Monitor changes in water temperature, oil temperature, and oil pressure at all times. If any abnormalities are detected, shut down the engine for inspection. Regularly check the storage levels of fuel, engine oil, and coolant, as well as the cleanliness of the coolant. Simultaneously inspect the diesel engine for oil leaks, water leaks, air leaks, or other abnormal phenomena. Observe the exhaust smoke color of the diesel engine for any abnormalities (normal smoke color should be slightly bluish-gray; if it is deep blue or dense black, shut down the engine for inspection). Strictly prevent water, oil, metal, or other foreign objects from entering the motor. The three-phase voltage of the motor must remain balanced.

07 Detailed records must be maintained during operation, including environmental parameters, engine operating parameters, startup time, shutdown time, shutdown cause, fault cause, troubleshooting methods, and the names and quantities of replaced parts.
